If you had to spend all the money you had for fire crackers on something noble, what would you spend it on?
Our Winner is: Seema Aggarwal

Seema’s Entry:
For sure I would have spent all my money on a noble cause. I myself felt the situation that when you are in need and someone helps you out nothing can be more noble and like celebrating a festival. 3 years back I couldn’t appear my exams because my father occurred huge loss in business. Then one of my uncle came like God just before few days of Diwali and gave me a packet and said go and summit you exam fees without delay. Rather wasting money on crackers I think I can give this country a brilliant citizen with this money. Today I am a C.A. I would say rather on wasting all the money go for a noble cause. And if everyone does this we make a good society and a good country.

Winner of 21st October, 2011:
Tell us your top 3 ideas of celebrating a Green - Eco - Friendly Diwali.
Our winner is : Arun Bansal

Arun's Entry:
My 3 ideas to celebrate this upcoming Diwali in an eco friendly green way are :
1.Go traditional
Light diyas in the true spirit of Diwali, rather than opting for electric illumination which will only use up electricity. Though earthen lamps need oil, the quantity required is very less and it burns for at least 3-4 hours
2.Gift organic
Go green this Diwali and gift your family and friend from the organic store round the corner. These days there are plenty of options in organic gifts from exotic food items to cosmetics and personal use items to bags and clothes
3.Eco-friendly Crackers
Instead of selecting traditional chemical cracker this Diwali go for eco-friendly crackers made up of recycled paper and the sound produced by these crackers is under the decibel limit defined by the Pollution Board. These crackers produce paper fluffers and different color lights instead of sound on bursting.

Winner of 20th October, 2011:
Diwali is a beautiful festival of lights that signifies hope and a new beginning. What is the significance of Diwali for you?
Our winner is: Anju Goel
Facebook Profile: http://www.facebook.com/people/Anju-Goel/100001284310968

Anju's Entry:
I remember when I was in class 1, I wrote an essay on Diwali. I scribbled ‘Diwali is a festival of lights; people decorate their homes and exchange greetings……’ Well, Is it actually bringing light and happiness around? is it actually sending positive vibes and blessings for happy and long life for the people around us?? If we are honest the answer is ‘No’. For most of us Diwali is just a synonym to a night full of crackers, noise and smoke. All this is an amalgamation of gloom, darkness, despair, health problems, environment degradation and murk. We scare the birds to death, shorten the lives of children who are engaged in cracker factories, trouble the heart and hospitalized patients, burn thousand of rupees to ashes in the name of ceremonies. Do we have to pay such a heavy cost to buy a smile for ourselves? It is nothing but a sadistic pleasure to have moments of joy in exchange of mass havoc. After all Goddess Lakshmi does not want us to dispel the darkness of AMAYSAYA in this way. For me, we should enjoy Diwali in its purest form by lighting lamps, offering prayers and by making this world a better place for the entire universe. This festival should never end but anything that has started should meet its end. .
Happy Diwali.
